As one of the most prestigious shopping arteries on the planet, tenants on avenue Montaigne in Paris obviously go the extra yard to show off. Bottega Veneta has seized the opportunity to herald a new era, that of its new creative director Matthieu Blazy, by revamping its flagship store on this swanky thoroughfare. In fact, its the very first retail space which bears his signature. Occupying no less than 800 sqm. (8,611 sq.ft.) set across two floors of a residential building, the design codes are contemporary with a slight futuristic touch and captured by a range of natural materials, notably Italian dark walnut wood. Almost all surfaces, including the floor and ceiling, are covered in a grid filled with glass blocks that optically enlarges booth floors. The ground floor, which presents Bottega Veneta‘s women’s collections, features shelving units crafted from and walnut with rounded edges and matching display tables, in addition to chunky arched clothing racks made from metal and hand-crafted Venetian glass rings.

A number of seating areas, furnished with designer Mario Bellini‘s chunky yet elegant armchairs clad in the brand’s signature intrecciato woven leather and paired with sculptural side tables, offer power shoppers a comfy pitstop. Upstairs, by way of a swirling walnut staircase, the store’s men’s section can be found. The chosen aesthetic extends upstairs at the men’s department, except for the arched clothing racks, which are similar in shape, but here, they comprise of wooden rings. Needless to say, in a flagship store like this you’ll also find a fitting V.I.P. room for the most discerning clientele.  Other design highlights of the retail space include the front door’s glass handles by Japanese artist Ritsue Mishima and lush plants in highky artistic pots dot the premises. The renewed Bottega Veneta flagship store carries the brand’s full range of women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, bags, shoes, small leather goods, jewellery pieces and eyewear.
