Hailing from BangkokPZ Oppasuksatit a.k.a. PZ today (1990) has always been free-spirited, as her work has demonstrated, but now that she’s an independent artist she has gone full throttle. A creative director and designer by trade, the creative is based in Paris where she previously was Vetements’ visual director and has collaborated with leading fashion-forward brands such as Helmut Lang, Dover Street Market and Virgil Abloh on a string of fashion-infused art projects . Just a few days ago, a large-scale pop-up exhibition of PZ today has opened at HAUS Dosan, the multi-storey flagship store of eyewear brand Gentle Monster in Seoul. The ephemeral showcase in the South Korean capital is an extension of PZ today’s Fries projects, referencing American fast food restaurants as the central motif. The so-called Fast Food Space, interpreted by the artist’s unique perspective, showcases witty graphics and various artworks. Additionally, a variety of PZ today’s goods and 50 exclusive Shitty Meals, a quirky jab at the McDonald’s Happy Meal, can be snapped up here, comprising miniature art sculptures inside mystery boxes (on through Jul 23).
