There were already five boutiques across London, but as of late, Diptyque has once again upped the ante, inaugurating its largest retail space in the city in the leafy Chelsea district. The store occupies a spacious unit on the ground floor of a late 19th century red brick building. Designed by the olfactory brand’s in-house design team at home base Paris, the interior design takes ample cues from the French capital’s architecture, but masterfully mixed and matched with the original elements of the building. The premises of the Diptyque store is divided into three sections. Upon entering, shoppers find themselves in a setting that’s furnished with a dark wood cash desk situated in front of a fresco created on-site by French painter Claire Basler.

A matching, large wooden console and painted table displays showcases the Diptyque collection. Needless to say, this area is dedicated to gifts and fragrance services. The following section sees traditional Edwardian mouldings and ornate ceiling roses paired with a contemporary sculptural table, two libraries encased in wood and glass, and displays surrounding a homey yet merely decorative fireplace, all framed by ombre finish walls. At the far end of the Diptyque store, shoppers encounter a much more intimate section, featuring a setting with a backdrop of light timber panelling and a comfy seating area and a library which showcases Diptyque‘s elaborate Home Décor collection.
