Yes indeed, Paris Design Week is back, and Comme des Garçons‘ hybrid retail hub 3537 in the French capital pitches in with an interesting showcase of its own. The exhibition, entitled WHATEVER NEEDS TO BE DONE, opens Tue – Sep 13 and presents a series of projects throughout Hôtel de Coulanges, the historic premises of 3537. The show not only displays designs by established artists, but also explores the creative endeavours of a new generation of young, emerging talents, exhibiting works ranging from objects and furniture to sculpture and far-fetched projects. The participating designers are Alberto Vitelio, Aparador St.-Martin & Aldo Chaparro, Degremont, Justin MorinPaul Youenn, PZ today, Simon Dupety, Theoreme Editions and Wendy Andreu. The installations will be on display in the building’s basement and on the ground floor (through Sep 20) and also on the first floor (through Sep 22). Mind you, a related event with a live gig and DJ set will be held on Sep 15 (6pm-10pm) in the courtyard of 3537.
