On the occasion of its 51st couture show in Paris, fashion house Balenciaga has revived its couture boutique. Situated on swanky avenue George V, it’s the very same location where in 1937 the brand’s original couture boutique opened its doors. The couture boutique closed its doors again in 1968 when Balenciaga decided to cancel its couture operations. Situated on the ground floor of an ornate six-storey townhouse built in 1887, it features two separate spaces for men and women which are both connected to a couture salon. Needless to say, the interior design of the Balenciaga couture store in in line with the brand’s austere retail design codes, featuring a palette of glass, steel, mirrors and exposed raw concrete. One floor up, a shopping space has been created where to pick exclusive trophies and have them personalised. Unsurprisingly, the store offers an exclusive selection labeled 10 Avenue George V, alongside unique couture pieces that can be manually adjusted in the atelier one floor above. Available items include face shields created in collaboration with Mercedes AMG F1 Applied Science, the business division of the Mercedes Benz Grand Prix, and the much-publicised bags with built-in speaker crafted in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen.
