Following much-publicised launches in Tokyo and Miami, Louis Vuitton has really stepped up opening standalone men’s boutiques, and the latest one, its eighth nationwide, has just landed in Los Angeles. Situated on iconic Rodeo Drive, the store measures 6,175 sq.ft. (574 sqm.) spread across the ground floor and mezzanine level of a newly constructed building, and it has been designed by the brand’s in-house design team. The strikingly textured façade, resembling its trademark Epi leather, and indoor settings unsurprisingly ooze the playful style sensibilities of Virgil Abloh, the lauded creative director who passed away so unexpectedly late last year. The lofty ground floor sees a neutral backdrop of whitewashed walls, but the setting is spiced up by colourful furnishings and artworks, notably Portuguese artist Marisa Ferreira‘s colour-infused acrylic painting on stainless steel and mirrors, Abloh’s Giant Man sculpture, and fitting room murals by artist Alex Proba. The new Louis Vuitton men’s boutique carries the brand’s full range of men’s apparel, accessories, shoes, bags, eyewear, jewellery pieces and fragrances, in addition to select special edition items.
