Built in the mid-17th century, the Hôtel de Coulanges in the Marais district Paris is a palatial former home of French aristocrats, but these days, it’s a hub of all thing cool, and thanks to a management by retailer extraordinaire Dover Street Market, and as such, also an affiliation with the influential Comme des Garçons fashion empire, it has slowly gained the global limelight. The building already hosts a rotation of events related to fashion and lifestyle, and the very latest event adds further hype. We’re talking the new pop-up café by Crosby Studios, a Moscow-based architecture and design practice which has gained the global limelight with a string of understated interior design projects, but since last March also a branded shop and café of its own in the Russian capital. And now, for three months only, a second Crosby Studios Café has opened its doors on the premises of the historic Hôtel de Coulanges. Occupying a voluminous ground floor space, it’s furnished with all-blue furnishings by Crosby Studios, and when the sun is out, a tranquil courtyard terrace with additional seating and looking out onto the Rosiers – Joseph Migneret Garden readily awaits. The Crosby Studios pop-up venue features a menu listing bites by Dover Street Market affiliate Rose Bakery and Ten Belles coffee.
