Its lush geophysical features and cultural allure have drawn millions of visitors to its doorstep for many decades, but Bali‘s laid-back vibe has also made the sunny island a fave destination among the global party crowd. Founded in 1980 on Ibiza, the ultimate party island of party islands, Café del Mar has evolved from a funky sunset bar on its western shores into global music and hospitality empire. Following the opening of an outpost on Sydney‘s Cockle Bay Wharf in 2013, it’s in an accelerated expansion mode once again which sees the opening of five resort playgrounds in the near future, and the first one is on Bali‘s west coast. Situated smack on the Kayu Putih Beach in Canggu, the venue is centred around an expansive 700 sqm. (7,535 sq.ft.) swimming pool. It’s surrounded by a variety of seating areas – that’s 48 seats at beach club dining with 60 outdoor benches, 58 sun loungers, 37 day beds, 13 cabanas, three semi-submersed luxury pool booths, four sunset booths and swim-up pool bars – with unobstructed views of the beach and ocean.

For those who like to live and play at large, Café del Mar Bali readily accommodates with three deluxe private suites and one Mac Daddy Suite right next to the state-of-the-art stage. As a nod to its roots, architect Rafael Pasaribu modelled the complex after Spanish architecture, but eclectically paired it with a Balinese roofs. Obviously, the good times at Café del Mar Bali revolve around music, and it has already kicked off  rotating programme of international DJs, musical guests and large scale outdoor music events. And because partying can be a taxing affair, Café del Mar Bali accommodates with a wide range of creative cocktails and an elaborate menu of tasty bites. Mind you, there’s even a juice and gelato bar to be found on the premises. Die-hard gourmets can indulge at a sophisticated diner, seating 120 guests indoors and 60 al fresco, with a contemporary Mediterranean menu which blends in Indonesian flavours. As said, the company is expanding, and coming soon are additional venues in Bangkok and the Maldives.
