Sneaker depository HypePoint has inaugurated its third store in Montreal‘s sprawling metropolitan area. Situated on the ground floor of CF Carrefour Laval, a large shopping centre in Laval, the city’s largest suburb, the store occupies a 180 sqm. (1,938 sq.ft.) ground floor unit, and sees a renewed collaboration with interior design by local interior design practice Perron. Aiming to be more than a showcase for sneakers and streetwear, providing a meeting place for kindred youth, the design codes is both inviting and dynamic. Referencing the new HypePoint brand identity while also extrapolating the aesthetic which was first revealed last May at the retailer’s store in Québec City, the premises scaffolding-inspired displays. The latter element is captured by custom-made, floor-to-ceiling steel rods which not only line the walls and shop window, but also serve as dividers. At the centre of the store, a circle, created by red plexiglass partitions demarcates the vintage zone and offers a glimpse at the cash desk wall. A play of textures and shades of red differentiates the various types of displays in the store.
