The notion, if not necessity, to recycle has finally trickled down to fashion’s upper echelon and it’s making real strides. In the case of A.P.C., a contemporary fashion brand with a global cross-demographic following, this has resulted in a dedicated vintage boutique at home base Paris. The company’s store on rue Notre-Dame de Nazareth in the popular Marais shopping district opened almost two years ago, and it has now been renamed A.P.C. VINTAGE. The clean and airy setting with its palette of soft greys and understated furnishings and fixtures, designed by French architect and longtime collaborator Laurent Deroo, has been fully retained. So, what’s on the shelves? As its name already implies, A.P.C. VINTAGE is entirely new store concept for the brand, exclusively stocking used garments. The deal is that A.P.C.‘s large contingent of loyal customers can deposit pieces that they no longer wish to wear right here in exchange for a credit note that they’ll be able to use in all of the brand’s stores across France, and yes, including the A.P.C. VINTAGE depository.
