The purveyors of next-generation it girl attire have taken their operations to a new level. We’re talking Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, the Milan-based duo behind THE ATTICO. Founded only in 2016, the THE ATTICO‘s largely slinky silhouettes have struck a chord with party girls across the planet. Needless to say, the brand has garnered a slew of leading stockists equally spread out, but as of late, Ambrosio and Tordini have inaugurated THE ATTICO‘s first standalone store, and where else than on the ultimate party island of Ibiza. The store occupies a 120 sqm. (1,292 sq.ft.) unit on the premises of Ibiza Gallery, a newly opened shopping centre in Sant Jordi de ses Salines, a leafy resort town wedged in between Ibiza Airport and the island’s eponymous capital city. Interestingly, when starting out, the founders chose the name of a domestic place as the name of their brand – mind you, attico means ‘penthouse’ in Italian – and all the fantasies spawning from it.

And now, establishing the first of many retail spaces, the idea of an ambiance its narrative can be fully explored and captured in 3D. Consequently, the aim is to capture emotions by way of rooms, instigating an elevated shopping experience, which exceeds traditional retail perimeters, through a specific spatial concept. The new retail space, entirely created in-house, takes ample cues from the bathroom, or rather, given THE ATTICO‘s upscale aura, a luxurious and sensual retreat where each day starts with chosen personal rituals, albeit with the vibe of a gallery space. Shoppers traverse a front portal of sorts, captured by a raw cement backdrop and flooring. Elongated tiered shelving and a wall-mounted steel clothing racks present the brand’s latest trophy pieces.

Furnishings are few, contrasting, but add to the theme, including a vintage lacquered wood vanity set with mirror. Taking centre stage, obviously, is the bathroom, set below a lowered ceiling with a semi-circular back wall and entire floor clad in Bisazza mosaic tiles, just like the bathtub. Similar style shelving and clothing racks may tie in with the aforementioned portal space, but it’s the large circular ceiling light that elevates the setting. An opening in the back wall reveals a glimpse of green onyx which precedes the cocoon-style fitting room with soft carpeting and tufted leather ottoman. A mirrored nook with ornate wash basin, matching golden faucets and colourful sconces complement the bathroom setting. The newly opened THE ATTICO store carries a curated selection of apparel, shoes, bags and accessories. © superfuture
