Shopping in Ginza just got a little more exciting! Following the expansion of its original store in what’s arguably Tokyo‘s most upscale shopping district, Onitsuka Tiger has inaugurated a new concept store in the area. The Kobe-based sneaker brand has recently inaugurated a standalone concept store that’s entirely dedicated to its Yellow Collection, a range of footwear first presented at this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, and which take ample cues from the brand’s iconic yellow hue and black lettering. Needless to day, the collection’s aesthetic has rubbed off on the look of the new retail space. Wedged right in between the glittering flagship stores of Versace and Bottega Veneta, the new outpost occupies two floors and features a striking all-yellow façade that’s adorned at the top with the brand name. Indoors, the interior, created by the brand’s in-house design team, is modern and understated, featuring a backdrop of raw concrete walls and flooring, alternated by stuccoed wall sections, and furnishings crafted from yellow-lacquered timber and stuccoed panels. Exposed ceilings are overlaid by large ceiling lights. The new Onitsuka Tiger concept store carries men’s and women’s footwear and apparel.
