Founded by husband-and-wife team Rasim and Alla Akperov, the Moskvichka chain of hair and nail salons in Moscow has shown a steady growth over the past few years. Given the couple’s background in luxury fashion retail, many of the city’s fashion professionals and socialites are among Moskvichka‘s clientele. The company’s ongoing expansion has culminated in a new concept that offers an elaborate package of services in a design-led setting. Occupying a 140 sqm. (1,507 sq.ft.) space just off Tsvetnoy Bulvar, a bustling thoroughfare in the city’s Tverskaya district, the Moskvichka Beauty Club features an interior design by architects Eduard Eremchuk and Katy Pititskaya of newly established architecture and design practice EDXXKAT. Steering clear from the standard aesthetic of regular beauty salons, the design codes are inspired by the paintings of Russian-Jewish artist Robert Falk (1886-1958).
And more specifically, it’s his works themed ‘the festive city’ which are captured in silver grey hues, depicting the sky, and accentuated by red for banners that decorate the city. As such, red Yarra veneer has been used for custom-made partitions, albeit combined with curved glass and on one side featuring sleek shelving, to create different sections on the understated premises. The streamlined and slightly futuristic aesthetic encompasses large floor-to-ceiling mirrors at each work station and a reception desk in an amorphous shape with a shiny red veneer and crafted from upcycled materials. In stark contrast, Moskvichka Beauty Club‘s restroom is finished with blue veneer panels. Moskvichka Beauty Club not only offers regular hair, beauty and nail services, but also has specially trained staff who offer hardware and injection cosmetology and figure correction using the newest and technologically advanced devices, such as BBL, icoone, SkinTyte.
