South Korean brand SIDIZ is a leading seating manufacturer, and aiming to remain on top of its game, the company has recently inaugurated an experiential flagship store, its very first, on a street in the Nonhyeong area of Seoul that’s known as a veritable hub of furniture depositories. Occupying a 159 sqm. (1,712 sq.ft.) unit on the second floor of a modern office building, the SIDIZ floor sees an interior design by local architecture practice Betwin Space which offers an immersive shopping experience by putting the brand’s product range front and centre. Upon entering the premises, clients proceed by way of a corridor to the so-called Sitting Experience Zone where an orderly configuration of twelve metal desks paired with various SIDIZ chair designs can be found. The space is framed by a concrete ceiling with exposed utility pipes, Flotex textile floor tiles, and on three sides, display spaces which can be concealed by silvery curtains.

But let’s go back to the nifty desks first, shall we? Each one is equipped with metal desk lamps, and more importantly, a screen providing a wealth of data about the SIDIZ chair it’s paired with. Additionally, the desks are lit by specially designed light fixtures that highlight their presence in the space. As said, the Sitting Experience Zone is flanked by display spaces, but also a concise meeting room and a staff locker room. The product displays comprise three large shelving units and a smaller one presenting just one chair design, and all featuring built-in lighting. At the far end, an elongated information counter with a glass front side revealing stacked fabrics, and a large media screen as a backdrop. The new SIDIZ flagship store carries a wide selection of chairs, from the T50 and T80 series, to the Linie chairs and ringo children’s seats.
