Compared to Harajuku, Shibuya and Aoyama, the Ikebukuro area of Tokyo is much lesser known to those venturing here from abroad to indulge in the city’s vast and diverse retail scene. Nevertheless, it’s a hub of all sorts for locals, and obviously, awash with shopping opportunities. The sizeable Seibu Ikebukuro department store first opened here in the 1950s and has been a fixture ever since, especially for luxury goods. A string of high-end brands have a presence in the department store, including Louis Vuitton. As of late, the Paris-based fashion house has not only expanded, but also revamped its shop-in-shop. The interior design, created by the brand’s in-house design team, features curved lines and homey seating arrangements to create a more modern space. The Louis Vuitton shop-in-shop os spread across two floors. The women’s domain is situated on the ground floor, and presents ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes, leather goods, jewellery and watches, and fragrances, and one floor up, the men’s section unfolds, stocking ready-to-wear, accessories, leather goods, shoes and books.
