We talked about PÁR, an independent Czech sneaker brand, and its very first store at home base Prague, in a previous post. As said, there’s a second store too, and that one is situated in Žižkov, an emerging neighbourhood east of the historic heart of the city. Previously occupied by a shoe brand that PÁR founders Jan Kloss and Darina Zavadilová were involved in, the retail space sits on the ground floor of a 1920s residential building and has been revamped by Kloss and Jakub Pollág, co-founder of architecture and design practice Studio deFORM, and also also collaborator in that previous shoe venture. Similar to the first store downtown, the setting sees a back wall covered in floor-to-ceiling grids of red cardboard shoe boxes, interspersed with circular display sections, and is paired with auburn tile flooring which has been retained. Additional furnishings comprise a series of metal display tables in different heights, and the lush plants, including the ones sitting in the deep window sills are sourced from horticultural agency Haenke. The PÁR store carries the brand’s full range of unisex sneakers, in addition to an assorted range of items.
