Louis Vuitton presented its S/S 2022 Women’s Collection in Paris at the Louvre‘s Passage Richelieu, an ornate arcade which connects bustling rue de Rue de Rivoli with the museum’s inner courtyard and its glittering Louvre Pyramid. Creative director Nicolas Ghesquière had a setting whipped up inspired by Le grand bal du temps, or Grand Ball of Time, seeing the crowd of fashion pros and prerequisite platoon of celebrities seated below seemingly endless rows of vintage crystal chandeliers. The collection fittingly kicked off with pannier dress-inspired gowns, all intricately designed and oozing both history and ethnic references. From there, the silhouettes evolve in full eclectic mode, incorporating bolero jackets, askew capes, leather dresses and dotted capes, all paired with sturdy open-toe boots in leather or satin, an equally wide variety of handbags, beaded bonnets, and dramatically ornate sunglasses. Shown here are eight looks from Louis Vuitton‘s S/S 2022 Women’s Collection that we particularly like.
