Founded in 2015 by August Bard-Bringéus and Jakob Dworsky, two young Swedes with a penchant for clean, timeless and sustainably made garments, the ASKET brand basically is the result of what they weren’t able to find while still in college. Since the very beginning, the company has strictly adhered to a set of principles regarding slow consumption, transparency and accountability, setting new standards while successfully rolling out an online business which resonates with growing demographic of mindful yet style-conscious shoppers. Fast forward to 2021, and ASKET embarks on a new trajectory, adding physical retail to its operations. The store occupies a 116 sqm. (1,249 sq.ft.) unit on the ground floor of a landmark 1930s building by Swedish architect Ivar Tengbom in the city’s Norrmalm district and features an interior design by Stockholm-based architecture and design practice Specific Generic. The interior design aims to reflect the brand’s core values, resulting in a clean, understated aesthetic captured by purpose built, locally produced ash wood shelving, paired with concrete flooring and an exposed ceiling, while also embedding a focus on the manufacturing process of the garments, fibre and material quality. On the light-filled premises, concealed behind shimmering stainless steel panels, shoppers can try on their garment of choice or sit back in the comfy lounge. The ASKET store carries the brand’s seasonal staple designs for men and women, but staff also provides shoppers size and styling services and free repairs on ASKET items.

Publishers Note
Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
