The house of Dior has been present in Jakarta for many years, operating two women’s ready-to-wear boutiques, and eventually, also standalone boutique dedicated to cosmetics and fragrances. But as of late, a Dior men’s store has opened its doors at Plaza Indonesia, one of the leading shopping centres in the sprawling Indonesian capital. Needless to say, the popularity of creative director Kim Jones‘ pop culture-influenced designs have boosted sales here too, justifying the opening of a separate men’s boutique. The store occupies a premium spot on the ground floor, right next to the existing women’s boutique, rubbing shoulders with a string of illustrious names from fashion’s upper echelon. The Dior men’s boutique features an interior design by the brand’s in-house design team which takes ample cues from its flagship store on iconic avenue des Champs-Elysées in Paris, and although it’s connected to the women’s domain, it also has its very own entrance. The new boutique carries a curated selection of men’s apparel, accessories, bags, small leather goods and eyewear.
