Signalling the near-end of the global pandemic – at least in this neck of the woods – on a highly frivolous note, is today’s official opening of Pink Beach in Amsterdam. As its name already implies, the outdoor summer pop-up venue, founded by Brazilian transplant and entrepreneur Sarah Mendes, is dipped in a hysterical yet quite photogenic pink hue inspired by exotic beaches. Situated smack in the middle of a bland industrial zone in the Dutch capital’s emerging northern borough, it sees a setting created by Madrid-based designer Patricia Bustos. Set across 300 sqm. (3,229 sq.ft.), the Pink Beach compound welcomes the hyper connected Millennial and Generation Z demographic, and anyone with a playful mindset, to a new playground with a well-stocked bar, beach chairs, cozy booths, palm trees, and last but not least, a ball pit for additional jolly banter. The concise menu lists cocktails, mocktails, wines and other beverages, in addition to hamburgers, salads and other tasty summery bites.
