Online women’s fashion retailer Short Sentence has ventured into physical retail, opening a boutique in Shanghai‘s downtown neighbourhood of Huashan Lu. Founded in 2015 by fashion designer Guan Lin, a graduate from both Shanghai‘s Donghua University and Parsons School of Design in New York City, the brand has become known for a simple and relaxed aesthetic geared towards a young femal clientele. Occupying a 100 sqm. (1,076 sq.ft.) retail space set across different rooms, Lin tapped Shanghai-based practice AIM Architecture to create a matching interior for her brand, but also one that intentionally reflects an a bstracted notion of both a home and Short Sentence‘s home base. Clean,  understated and sparsely furnished, and each room aims to offer shoppers an introduction to the brand and its merchandise in a personalised manner. Totally in sync with the design concept, the furnishings, consisting of aluminium-and-resin display tables of various sizes, shelving and both standing and suspended clothing racks, are inspired by the creative process of fashion design. The store concept has currently been tweaked with a lush pop-up garden installation in the back yard, celebrating the launch of Short Sentence‘s new Endless Summer capsule collection
