Following last year’s renewal of its retail space in Kyoto, cult streetwear brand A Bathing Ape, or BAPE for its avid fanbase, returns to the Kansai region to open a shop-in-shop on the premises of the Comme des Garçons flagship store in Osaka. Both the Comme des Garçons flagships and affiliated Dover Street Market stores across the planet are the holy grail for discerning power shoppers due to their coveted offerings, but also because the ever-evolving design of their respective interiors add to an exceptional shopping experience. The BAPE shop-in-shop is fully integrated into the store, but stands out by its design at the same time. Created by Comme des Garçons‘ notoriously elusive founder Rei Kawakubo herself, the shop-in-shop is made up of a wooden framework which incorporates shelving, clothing racks and panelling featuring A Bathing Ape‘s signature branding. A small display table at the centre of the store has the shape of a piece from the brand’s camo pattern. The new BAPE shop-in-shop carries the full range of apparel, shoes, accessories and eyewear, including limited edition BAPE x Comme des Garçons items which celebrate the launch of the shop-in-shop.
