Originally hailing from Tokyo, anime artist Jun Inagawa moved to Los Angeles, and since he has been based there, he is gradually gaining recognition on a global scale. Following last year’s collaborations with Vlone, AWGE, and Diesel for the brand campaign Ha(u)te Couture, the talented Japanese returns to the homeland for his first ever solo exhibition. Opening Fri – Mar 1 (3PM-6PM) at Diesel Art Gallery in Shibuya, the show is entitled Magical Girl DESTROYERS (Moe), and puts more than 20 new works on display, all themed around a story of the Magical Girls characters fighting to regain the anime, game, figure, two-dimensional wife, and Japanese otaku subculture, that has been excluded by the two-dimensional exclusion method. Additionally, there’ll be an enticing range of memorabilia for die-hard fans to snap up at the venue, such as T-shirts and posters. Needless to say, Inagawa will be present at the opening for an exclusive signing session.
