Graphic artist Jimmy Turrell and designer Richard Turley have been working together for over two decades and are fixtures in London‘s buzzing creative scene. Interestingly, the two creatives have never had an exhibition together. Until now that is. Currently on at The Book Club in Shoreditch is Unforsaken, a quirky show curated by Liat Chen and Algy Batten which presents a new collection of the two creatives’ original prints and additional artworks in a site-specific installation. The work blends found printed matter and recycled texts that are cut up, reworked, printed over, defaced and reanimated – the parts are in constant flux. Words, imagery, signs, codes and symbols are colliding together in a sprawl of fragmented and often conflicting messaging and meaning (on through May 16).
