The house of Saint Laurent ventured halfway across the globe to present its S/S 2020 Men’s Collection, picking a spot smack on the beach of Malibu as a show location. The proximity of L.A. and its sizeable glam community have certainly helped to nudge the event this way, and yes, what a star studded night it was! But let’s not digress towards the attendees, including newly appointed Saint Laurent poster boy Keanu Reeves and a pack of other A-listers, and focus on what’s creative director Anthony Vaccarello has come up with. The collection takes plenty of cues from Marrakesh, the beloved retreat of the brand’s legendary founder Yves Saint Laurent (1936-2008), but all interpreted in a laid-back California way. The designer took it up a notch, blending in the rock star silhouette, rendering a large number of his looks slightly androgynous and bohemian. The sharply cut suit? No worries, it’s still there to guide you in style through sunnier climes. Shown here are eleven looks which we particularly like. Yves Saint Laurent‘s S/S 2020 Men’s Collection is expected to drop in the brand’s boutiques and a select number of other depositories early next year.
