Aiming at next-generation smokers, the glo brand not only offers a seemingly more advanced lifestyle habit with its nifty product line, but also appealing retail where to explore and make a purchase. The brand is present across the Old Continent, but especially in tobacco-loving nations in Southern and Eastern Europe, including Ukraine. In the historic coastal city of Odesa, glo has recently inaugurated a new shop in the historic city centre which features an updated interior design by Kyiv-based practice ZIKZAK Architects. The store occupies a 60 sqm. (646 sq.ft.) unit on the ground floor of a historic structure built in 1842 by Swiss-Italian architect Giorgio Torricelli, and offers a stark contrast to its ornate façade.

Although existing load-bearing structures and arches have been retained, the entire setting is captured by a distinctly contemporary palette of materials and colours. Upon entering the store, shoppers find themselves in a section which both presents the glo product range and provides product information. Taking centre stage is a large display which showcases the available smoking devices. A recessed nook in bright orange offers seating. Beyond the elegant arch, shoppers find a service area and sales counter, while a separate counter is dedicated to glo’s merchandise, featuring a TV with virtual reality glasses. Each zone has a consultant who guides shoppers in their journey through the glo universe. © superfuture
