Hot on the heels of the flagship store opening in London, which we covered in a previous post, Versace opens another prestigious retail space on rue St.-Honoré in Paris. Following a longtime presence on avenue Montaigne, this is the brand’s second flagship store in the French capital, occupying three floors of a landmark 1930s building which is home to the plush Mandarin Oriental hotel. At 450 sqm. (4,844 sq.ft.), this is a spacious location, just around the corner from place Vendôme and smack in the middle of the city’s luxury shopping district. The interior design is brazenly opulent, as one would expect from Versace, and follows the design concept as laid down by architect Gwenaël Nicolas of Tokyo-based practice Curiosity. New designs take centre stage, surrounded by fluted walls in neutral tones. The complexity and diversity of the various collections are juxtaposed with white and grey marble floors and matching display elements. Shimmering golden metal finishings enhance the many creations on display. Additionally, Versace‘s brand heritage is referenced through solid glass chandeliers emulating the iconic Barocco design. The space has been created with the highest sustainability standards in mind. The new Versace flagship store carries the brand’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes, bags, jewellery and watches, eyewear, fragrances, and also home textiles.
