While the coming sports behemoth that is the 2024 Summer Olympics has either annoyed or creeped out many Parisians, there’s still a large number of happy faces to be found. Take India Mahdavi, for instance. The acclaimed Paris-based designer totally rolls with it, and does so by whimsically adopting a sports theme for her Project Room #14. Mind you, Mahdavi’s ongoing Project Room series, taking place at a dedicated space in the city’s tony St.-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood, playfully juggles window installation and gallery space, and showcase the designer’s creative universe, often incorporating designs and artwork of other highly talented creatives. As said, Project Room #14 has a sports theme, table tennis to be precise, and sees a gleaming silvery setting created by architect and designer Harry Nuriev and his practice Crosby Studios. The immersive, all-silver space is furnished with a full-fledged table tennis table and a set of bats, all obviously in silver, and allows passers-by in to play a game or two (open through Aug 2). © superfuture
