It’s a timely arrival for madhappy. We’re talking the brand’s return to East Hampton, and this time with a permanent outpost that once again aims to indulge the hordes of cool urban kids who’ll migrate here in large numbers the coming summer season. Situated a stone’s throw away from the previous pop-up store location, madhappy has secured a low-rise, former residential wooden unit which is now part of a larger retail building. The retail space has been designed by Social Works, an architecture and interior design practice based in Sydney and Los Angeles, and sees two clean and understated adjacent spaces dipped in pastel hues. The front section, flaunting a soft yellow shade, sees a sizeable low bench covered in a fluffy soft pink fabric taking centre stage. Additional furnishings and fixtures include sleek steel clothing racks, matching shelving, and a set of speakers. The back section, entirely in soft blue, sees even less furnishings save additional clothing racks. The new madhappy store men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, and shoes, in addition to a store-exclusive capsule collection. © superfuture
