Now more than ever a lifestyle brand than merely a purveyor of sneakers, the New Balance Tokyo Design Studio has revealed a new installation at Dover Street Market Ginza in Tokyo. The installation, designed by architect Takuya Sakamoto of local architecture practice ATELIER WRITE, is dedicated to the brand’s Uni-ssentials by TDS SS25 capsule collection, a lifestyle merchandise range which was first launched two years ago. The apparel collection intentionally explores the essence of gender neutrality. Gender-neutral garments displayed in different sizes, with striking, tilted fixtures following a wide range of hem lengths, embodying the concept. For this season, the material palette includes handcrafted translucent FRP, allowing the wooden rafters under the shelf boards and the threaded post of the jack base to show through, creating harmony with the sheer apparel (on through Mar 27). © superfuture
