To anyone who’s familiar with shopping in Ginza, one of Tokyo‘s preferred shopping grounds for the most discerning, GINZA SIX is a fixture in their shopping itinerary since it fisrt opened seven years ago. The multi-storey luxury shopping centre has been home to a string of boutiques of leading brands from fashion’s upper echelon, and since a recent renewal of the premises, even more so. Not only do the premises have a new look, but also nine new upscale brands have set up shop here, including Bvlgari, Chaumet, and the iconic Parisian house of Givenchy. The latter’s new boutique is perched on the second floor of GINZA SIX and occupies a 250 sqm. (2,691 sq.ft.) unit,  and as such, it’s one of biggest Givenchy retail spaces in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The interior design sees a new concept by the brand’s new creative director Matthew Williamson and its in-house design team, fuses both elements of Classicism and modernity. Sleek metal shelving units with cabinets line the walls at both the womenswear and menswear stands which elegantly tie in with matching satellite displays with glass tops. The fluffy grey carpeting subtly flaunts a woven in Givenchy logo. The new Givenchy store carries women’s and men’s apparel, including suiting, denim pieces and modern evening wear, in addition to accessories, bags, small leather goods and shoes. In celebration of the store opening, a number of limited edition items have been released, including an Antigona bag in a green version, accessories with a daisy motif, and last but not least, collab T-shirts with Japanese brand UNDERCOVER.
