Only six months after the sortage. store first opened its doors – mind you, we covered the event in a previous post – on the premises of the upscale Vremena Goda shopping centre in Moscow, it has been expanded and renewed. Since its opening, the sortage. store has resonated well with the city’s young and savvy shoppers, giving impetus to expand the retail operations, and quite literally so. At 70 sqm. (754 sq.ft.), the retail space has now more than doubled in size, and interestingly, the premises have retained a similar yet tweaked aesthetic created by local architecture and design practice NDA Design Studio. A large part of the existing design elements, such as display racks, cube tables, and shelving have been repurposed in the renewed interior, once again creating a striking, understated retail setting.
The colour black, modestly present in the previous store design, has become more prominent, and now adorns not only the sortage. shop front and sales counter, but also the ceiling, creating depth and making the bright green hue and metal elements stand out even more. The latter is captured by newly introduced metallic reflective surfaces, including a quintet aluminium sheet covering both the floor and specific wall sections, and all has been tweaked to accentuate the design’s innovation and forward spirit. Additionally, stainless steel retail equipment has also been expanded, and includes clothing rails, countertops, and illuminated shelves for sneakers. Last biut not least, power shopping young shoppers can now also sit back in a matching, comfy lounge area before or after purchasing their new trophies. The renewed sortage. store carries limited-edition sneakers, apparel and accessories by various leading brands, such as Nike, adidas and New Balance.
