The four-storey Gucci flagship store which opened in Tokyo‘s swanky Ginza shopping district, an event we talked about in a previous post, sees a striking tweak, and is now home to the very first Gucci Salon in one of the luxury brand’s most important markets. Perched on the third floor, the reservations-only retail space is the second of its kind in the world, and sees various homey settings interspersed with a curated range of highly exclusive Gucci offerings which have been selected to demonstrate its craftsmanship and savoir-faire. Each piece also embodies unique value through materials and bespoke personalisation. The interior design of Gucci Salon Namiki, named after the address in Tokyo where the Florentine house first opened up shop in 1964, is inspired by the salon’s origins as a place for intimate and personal social gatherings. Each curated selection is a masterpiece of Gucci craftsmanship and is meant to let the buyer’s personality shine through.

Handbags and shoes are crafted from precious leathers and adorned with crystals, diamonds or 18-karat gold glitter. Gucci‘s iconic Horsebit loafer, which celebrated its 70th anniversary this year, and one of its signature handbags, the Gucci Horsebit 1955, are available with a special Horsebit detail in 18-karat yellow gold and pavé diamonds. Do we hear you say ‘bags’? Well, there’s plenty to choose from with the Gucci Valigeria collection which also includes the hard-type suitcases favoured by discerning jet-setters. Watches and jewellery? Check and check. And if your beloved home requires an update, exquisite pieces from the alluring Gucci Décor collection are readily available. Mind you, a whole string of exclusive Gucci Salons are to open across the planet in leading shopping hubs a ross the planet, beginning with London and New York this year, and Paris, Milan, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei in 2024.
