Although founded in Tbilisi, womenswear brand LNB Studio has resonated quite well across the border, leading to the establishment of a new branded retail space at Vremena Goda, one of Moscow‘s leading luxury shopping centres. Occupying a compact unit on the third floor, the store features an interior design by architect Gleb Kirenkov of architecture practice NDA home studio. The main design objective was to create a unique retail environment which would emphasise both the brand’s bold and forward silhouettes and its Georgian roots. Through researching the brand’s products and content on social media, the latter aesthetic was not only spotted in the clothing, but also in the choice of locations for photoshoots. As a result, specific finishing materials have been used to embody this aesthetic in the space, paired with rough textures on the walls resembling concrete and quartz vinyl tiles with a concrete-like pattern on the floor created a rugged impression inside the store.
Special attention was given to the design of the retail fixtures. A storage area and fitting room using yellow-painted metal panels has been created which are part of a unique rail system which allows a certain versatility in the configuration of the setting. Additionally, inspiration was also found in Georgia‘s architectural history, and specifically in the unusual design of the Bank of Georgia building in Tbilisi, designed by architects Georgi Chakhava and Zurab Jalaghania in 1975, and which resembles piled bricks. Stainless steel and structural profiles have been used to develop a two-level podium design with an adjustable-height rail. The showcase was styled in a rugged manner, incorporating cinder blocks and a stainless steel platform with a yellow metal base. The fitting room door, also made of stainless steel with a neat round cutout, effortlessly slides aside despite its weight and dimensions. The new LNB Studio store carries the brand’s full range of women’s apparel, accessories and shoes.
