Little over a decade ago, in 2012 to be exact, Melanie Dal Canton set out to create an exceptional beauty haven in the leafy Prenzlauer Berg area of Berlin for an in-the-know crowd, and ever since, MDC has expanded its presence. As of late, the highly sophisticated beauty hub has spawned complementary new offspring right next door—MDC loft. Living up to its name, the beauty salon is situated on the top floor of a listed building and features a beautiful curved glass roof which allows in floods of daylight. Similar to the other MDC elements, the interior design has been created by leading architecture practice Gonzalez Haase. Interestingly, MDC loft‘s treatment room is a flexible one, allowing both comfortable intimacy as a spacious solo cabin as well as a communicative experience for two thanks to to its construction and use of sound-absorbing curtains. MDC loft offers a menu of body massages and facial treatments using products of Biologique Recherche and Susanne Kaufmann.
