AMBUSH was already present with a store – or ‘workshop’ in true AMBUSH parlance – in Tokyo, but now, it has further raised its profile in the city, nestling in one of its upscale shopping areas with a brand new retail space. The brand, led by its multi-tasking creative director and cultural icon Yoon Ahn, has secured a unit on the third floor of GINZA SIX, a multi-storey shopping centre in Ginza. Flanked by the boutiques from fashion’s upper echelon peers, such as MM6, Y-3 and Herno, the AMBUSH store sees a backdrop of mirrors, which optically enlarge the compact space, overlaid by a sizeable LED screen showing branded footage. Furnishings and fixtures are few and simple, comprising of a suspended steel clothing rack on one side, and a standing unit opposite, a sales counter and display cabinet, and additional display unit, and as a nod to the brand’s ongoing focus on utilitarian objects, a chromed-up stack of pallets as the setting’s focal point. The new AMBUSH store carries a selection of women’s apparel, shoes, bags and jewellery pieces.

Publishers Note
Just to be clear – superfuture® is a design blog and not a political commentator. No surprise there. The scope of our content has always been global and borderless, however that can often mean covering projects in countries where we will not agree with the politics or actions of those countries. In a world that’s as screwed up as ever right now, the focus of our support is to those designers, architects and other creatives who aim to make the world a more liveable one – as opposed to people that try their hardest to destroy it. So if a project hits our desk and we like it based on its design credentials, we may choose to publish regardless of its location or creators nationality. superfuture® has always been inclusive and hopes for all current wars, aggression, violence, hate and extremism to end.
