Ksubi was founded Down Under in 1999. More than twenty years on, the streetwear brand has pretty much retained the bold irreverence often associated with obstinate youth. The design codes of the newly opened Ksubi store in London are indicative of how on point the brand still is. Situated smack in the middle of Soho, historically the preferred shopping grounds of in-the-know young shoppers, the retail space occupies a unit across two levels of a newly built structure. Designed by London-based design studio Brinkworth, the chosen aesthetic pairs the brand’s rebellious spirit with a solid infusion of luxury, resulting an eclectic setting that’s captured by both distressed and premium materials.

The ground floor sees high-end details, such as an inlaid red marble cash desk and a bold concrete ceiling which compliments grey granite display plinths and custom clothes rails. Showcased here is a custom sculpture by Slawn, a Nigerian street artist and Motherlan skate collective co-founder based in the British capital, who has also collaborated with Ksubi on a collection as part of the latter’s ongoing partnership with cult artists. The Ksubi x Slawn collection is available here at the store, next to the streetwear brand’s full range of men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, bags, small leather goods and jewellery. Ksubi is accelerating its global retail presence as additional stores are planned for Chicago, Sydney and Melbourne.
