Last week JOYCE closed the doors of its legendary flagship store at New World Tower in Hong Kong‘s bustling Central district, but right after, the storied luxury retailer has inaugurated brand new premises at Pacific Place, which is widely considered as the city’s leading luxury shopping centre. Occupying a prominent corner unit on Level 2, the store measures no less than 11,000 sq.ft. (1,022 sqm.) and features an interior design by architecture and interior design practice COLLECTIVE. The store marks a brand new chapter in JOYCE‘s history, and the chosen aesthetic aims to reflect the retailer’s adventurous spirit – mind you, JOYCE has been pioneering many a luxury brand in the former British Crown Colony – but also oozes intimacy and warmth. Indeed, a delicate balance.

The store’s façade in beige travertine and an entrance captured by green onyx are a bold statement of luxury that’s visible from afar. Inside, shoppers find different product sections in terracotta and grey with tightly curated merchandise, ranging from womenswear, menswear and accessories, to jewellery pieces, beauty and homewares. And that’s not all. In order to keep its discerning following mesmerised, JOYCE has has initiated ONLY AT JOYCE, a series of exclusive and unique collaborations, capsule collections, and in-store activations with renowned designers and brands from across the planet. The new series kicks off with a showcase of A/W 2022 runway pieces from New York City-based designer Thom Browne. In celebration of the store opening, the new JOYCE flagship store has additional surprises up its sleeve.

The offerings include a global exclusive capsule collection in collaboration with Raf Simons which features the works of acclaimed photographer Wing Shya that’s infused with his imagery for Wong Kar Wai’s masterpiece Happy Together, a Yohji Yamamoto capsule collection designed exclusively for the new store, a Paco Rabanne chainmail-centric collection, and more. The beauty section presents a selection of genderless, niche beauty and fragrance labels, such as 19-69, amala, Dr. Barbara Sturm, FOLIE à PLUSIEURS, Nonfiction, Terre de Mars and Byredo. Mind you, the latter’s offerings include an exclusive two-week pre-launch of emotive new scented body products. The homewares section, whimsically dubbed Entertaining Curiosities, stocks a range of rare items and gifts by a similar range of niche quality brands.
