As many a local hipster can contest, Ari has rightfully claimed its title as Bangkok‘s most happening neighbourhood for quite some time. But as of late, that buzz become even bigger. We’re talking the opening of TOWNHOUSE Space, a modern lifestyle hub launched by ROM DESIGN, a branding and design company with offices in both the Thai capital and London. The venue occupies a 1990s multi-storey residential residential building, offering shoppers tightly curated selection of lifestyle goods and various presentations as they navigate the premises. Largely uncluttered and pristine white walls all over, TOWNHOUSE Space effortlessly allows its select merchandise to pop. The venue’s hybrid concept is fuelled by the cosmopolitan focus of Rom Sangkavatana, the founder and brand director of the aforementioned agency, and his team, which sees cherry-picked lifestyle products by Thai designers paired with coveted items sourced from around the planet—think men’s and women’s apparel, homeware, home decoration, books, furniture, and other lifestyle essentials. Additionally, TOWNHOUSE Space is a platform for the creative community, and as such, it collaborates with artists and designers, hosting a rotating programme of workshops, exhibitions and other events.
