Paris may be the epicentre of fashion in France – and yes, arguably the rest of the world too – but as many a travelling connoisseur will attest, this is a country where fashion and style is deeply rooted. As such, a sizeable number of notable multi-brand depositories can be found in glamorous pockets elsewhere, from Deauville and Courchevel, to the French Riviera, Biarritz, and as of late, also in Bordeaux. Best known for its prized vineyards, it’s here where Delphine Caucé, a fashion professional with a 20-year work experience in the upper segment, has established jqln., that’s short for Jacqueline, a new boutique for style savvy women. The boutique occupies a 120 sqm. (1,292 sq.ft.) unit on the ground floor of one of the many historic buildings in the heart of the city. The interior design, created in-house by Caucé, oozes the vibe of a private boudoir—chic and sensual, and vaguely reminiscent of a Guy Bourdin photograph. Furnishings and fixtures, some with bold metal accents, have been carefully sourced, adding to the overall allure. In her entire career, Caucé has always championed talented young designers, and this is very much reflected in jqln.‘s sophisticated mix of both French and international brands, including Lanvin, JW Anderson, Charlotte Resnais, The Row, Francesco Russo, Jil Sander and Nanushka.
