The creative output of art director and video director Hideyuki Tanaka (1962) is an impressive one, encompassing pop artwork for street fashion, video games, music scenes, and as of late, also illustrations for Marc Jacobs‘ brand new line Heaven by Marc Jacobs. To commemorate Tanaka’s contribution to this collection an exhibition of his work, aptly entitled @heaven, is held at the fashion brand’s affiliated Bookmarc shop in Harajuku. Next to a series of original artworks which Tanaka provided to the new clothing line, the showcase features copies of the artist’s art book Super Milk Chan Forever ❤︎ about anime character and super hero Super Milk Chan which can be purchased on the spot. The publication comes with a supply set containing a vinyl package (original paint + original silk screen), a Heaven collaboration artwork sticker and acrylic key holder. The exhibition is held at Bookmarc on Jun 18-29 (12am-7.30pm) and comes with a gallery talk on the opening day (8.30pm), an autograph session at the Marc Jacobs store at Shibuya PARCO on Jun 23 (6.30pm), and last but not least, a special party at Bookmarc later that day (8pm).
