Although no longer be Asia’s biggest luxury market, sales of high-end goods in Japan are once again on the rise, and interestingly, it’s largely due to an influx of Chinese tourists whose homeland has taken over that top position. However, given the sophistication and maturity of the Japanese market, it remains a force to be reckoned with, and luxury brands continue to raise their profiles. Christian Louboutin, the renowned red sole cobbler from Paris, has just revealed its 19th outpost in the Land of the Rising Sun, and this time it’s in Osaka. The shoe brand has opted for an 85 sqm. (915 sq.ft.) unit on the second floor of department store Takashimaya‘s local branch. The design is themed Crystal Wonders, and sees the use of travertine, quartz and amazonite, all captured by cabinets and displays in geometric shapes. The design also includes staple elements, including the fluffy red carpet, gold accents, and pidgeon hole display wall. The new Christian Louboutin shop-in-shop carries women’s and men’s shoes, bags and purses.
