Since opening her first store in South Beach little over a decade ago, Paris-born Laure Hédiard Dubreuil has become a fav of both editors and fashion folk alike. Striking a sensitive chord with tightly curated offerings for women and men, mixing chic and sporty with innate French flair, The Webster has become a nationwide boutique chain. Although it had a presence on the West Coast already, Hédiard Dubreuil chose to make a bolder retail statement, arguably her boldest to date, by opening a new pink-infused flagship in West Hollywood. The store occupies an 11,000 sq.ft. (1,022 sqm.) ground floor unit at Beverly Center, an upscale multi-storey mall and home to a slew of exclusive boutiques, featuring an interior and façade design by acclaimed British-Ghanaian architect David Adjaye.

As if inserted into the pristine white mall, the store’s plinth and façade, a rather chunky and curved upper half-circle – mind you, it’s hollow and lined with lighting – and lower half-circle, demarcate its presence in striking fashion. This specific pink-tinted concrete volume is repeated indoors, creating sculptural shapes, but made functional at the same time. The pink concrete is omnipresent, but it’s balanced out by terrazzo flooring and clothing racks and mirrors crafted from bronze. And having only large windows situated at the entrance, proper lighting is key, and it comprises of silvery ceiling spots and lighting which specifically targets the various display areas. The Webster‘s new outpost in Los Angeles carries the brand’s full selections of women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, bags, shoes, jewellery pieces and watches.
