Following the relocation of the A.P.C. boutique in Copenhagen little over two years ago, the French fashion brand has expanded its retail presence with a second outpost. Situated in Frederiksberg, a leafy downtown neighbourhood, the 30 sqm. (323 sq.ft.) retail space is nestled on the ground floor of an early 20th-century building, and rubs shoulders with the boutiques of leading brands from home and abroad, such as Aesop, Wood Wood and Recykel. Needless to say, the interior, a beautiful vaulted space, has been entirely transformed with the help of Paris-based architect and longtime collaborator Laurent Deroo. The large arched window comes with a metal-clad door set right in the middle, still allowing ample natural light to permeate the interior.

The door is fully clad with light timber on the inside, and harmoniously blends into the indoor setting. Timber slats cover the vaulted ceiling and subtly accentuate its elegant shape, while below, a variety of fixtures and furnishings of the same material can be found. The design is anchored by a hexagonal tiered display with a backlit canopy that’s attached to the entrance, and flanked on most sided by cabinets and shelving units with built-in seating. One side, however, is reserved to showcase apparel pieces, leading to the back of the store where a fitting room can be found. The entire back wall is covered in mirrors which optically enlarge the store. The new A.P.C. store carries a selection of men’s and women’s apparel, denim pieces, accessories, bags and small leather goods.
