The premises of the Louis Vuitton boutique at Roppongi Hills, a large mixed-use complex in the Roppongi area of Tokyo, has been given a full makeover for the luxury brand’s elaborate Savoir Faire event. The concept of this elaborate showcase is ‘a young couple that loves to travel the world’, and accordingly, the entire store sees a consecutive number of meticulously crafted and immersive settings that reference alluring cities and sights across the planet. The ground floor sees three spaces with four evocatively themed settings, and the first one is Unexplored Brazil. Here, shoppers see a room that references a jungle, albeit one where a Bomboca sofa can be found placed next to a partition that’s presented as an object and a range of designs by Brazilian design practice Estudio Campana, most notably its Cocoon chair, in addition to Patricia Urquiola‘s Swing Chair and a hammock by atelier oï.

Next is Mediterranean Island, presenting various trunks and objects from the Objets Nomades collection, in addition to its Boite Afternoon Tea Box brimming with china and tea utensils, Patricia Urquiola‘s Paravale chair and dark-hued Monogram Eclipse bags. The Dutch Flower Field mimics the seasonal floral splendour of the Bulb Region southwest of Amsterdam. Here, atelier oï‘s intricately crafted leather origami flowers flourish alongside Estudio Campana‘s Meringue ottoman and the Swing Boat sofa by atelier oï. The floral trunks on display are inspired by Nicolas Ghesquière‘s designs for the brand’s A/W 2022 Women’s Collection. One floor up, shoppers find a setting that’s inspired by Paris, Copenhagen and New York City. The Paris room is divided into three spaces: a living room, dining room, and wardrobe.

Situated in the centre of the area sits the striking Bulb chair in an off-white hue, surrounded by settings featuring the Cosmic table and Dolls chairs by Raw Edges, and Marcel WandersDiamond vase and Diamond screen. The Copenhagen room presents a colour range of products against a backdrop of timber, such as Andrew KudlessSwell Wave Shelf that’s reminiscent of a rock surface exposed to rain for many years, atelier oï‘s Serpentine table and Japan stools. The room inspired by New York City reflects the aesthetic of a brick townhouse. In the centre of the playroom the Monogram Eclipse product range is presented, including its pocket billiard table and table football, and flanked by the DJ Trunk and Guitar Trunk. Additional props featured here are reminiscent of the city’s iconic street culture, such as trunks for storing sneakers and skateboards. Due to this elaborate showcase the Louis Vuitton boutique has special opening dates and hours: until Jul 28 (12pm-9pm) and from Aug 12-20 (12pm-9pm).
