Rei Kawakubo is at it again. The creative director of Comme des Garçons has launched CDG, a logo-driven brand, earlier this month. Fully aligned with the current trend, a capsule collection has already dropped in Comme des Garçons stores across the planet, including the one in Hong Kong. A special installation has been erected within the store to festively announce the new CDG capsule collection and sees a striking box-shaped structure, plastered with multiple CDG logos, and with the lids flipped open. The CDG capsule collection includes men’s and women’s items, including shirt and long-sleeved t-shirts, and sweaters, all prominently featuring the brand logo, mixed and matched with various graphics and neon colours. Mind you, it’s a global retail rollout, and similar shop-in-shops will also open inside Dover Street Market in London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore and Beijing, and at the Comme des Garçons store the Seoul.
