signature mexican flavours meet new yorker classics at wahaca’s cheekier sister restaurant. following success in brick lane, tottenham court road in the heart of london becomes home to the down-to-earth delights of df mexico, so named after the central american capital. greedier than the small plates of wahaca, this colourful cantina offers a brilliant spot for a lengthy lunch or pre-party snack. brioche buns are packed with moreish 4-hour slow cooked beef, bashed avocado and tangy pink slaw; DIY boards invite you pile high your own taco stacks (to be partnered with guac and blue corn chips or cheesy refried beans); pork pibil burritos happily fill the stomach accompanied with tangy frozen margaritas. the whole experience is served with a side of fun whether it’s the all-you-can-drink juicy waters, pick’n’mix hot sauce or ice cream topped with your own packet of popping candy. once again with restaurant founder, thomasina miers, you never get an off-the-shelf mexican production.
