the barscape of the idyllic urban-burb of chiswick is augmented by a new addition to the scene, no197 chiswick fire station. set as the name suggests, in a former fire station, the space offers an instant ‘wow’ factor, full of light and space tempered with cosy scandi woods, soft furnishing and gorgeous design details peppered throughout. the bar takes centre stage offering twisted classic cocktails [with house-made syrups and sherbets], a considered wine menu and great coffee from london’s caravan roastery. the antipodean-inflected, supporting food menu is extensive, with offerings for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, sunday roasts, sharing boards and bar snacks. take your pick from blueberry ricotta pancakes and bruschetta for brunch, cheese and charcuterie boards to share, rotisserie chicken with sides of truffle mac’n’cheese or chilli lemon guac salad, steamed mussels and rainbow trout, hearty pies and savoury veggie burgers, innovative salads and indulgent puds. truly something for every appetite. it’s a space designed for setting up camp and lingering - a lazy brunch with bellini’s and friends, breakfast+coffee+laptop or a family sunday roast in the charming al fresco courtyard.
