After a two-year absence, A.P.C. re-enters the Nordic market, and this time, it has set up shop in the historic heart of Copenhagen. The Danish capital arguably is the most sophisticated of all capitals in the region, and as A.P.C. has resonated well with locals for quite some time, this standalone outpost is a natural next step. The boutique occupies a ground floor space of a meticulously renovated listed building from the late 18th-century, and as all other A.P.C. retail spaces across the planet, the premises feature an interior design by Paris-based architect and longtime collaborator Laurent Deroo. The chosen aesthetic is clearly Scandinavian-inspired, featuring clean and understated settings, largely captured by timber furnishings, opaque acrylic boards, and metal fixtures, and all in a fittingly demure yet light colour palette. Although the large floor-to-ceiling windows and glass entrance doors easily allow daylight to permeate the retail space, special attention has been give to lighting, featuring ceiling light spots and LED lights, in addition to built-in equivalents for a backlit effect of specific furnishings. The new A.P.C. store carries the full range of men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, shoes and bags.
