products

ground floor dining and rooftop bar debauchery.

clientele

surprisingly, the restaurant on the ground floor attracts a settled, if not a tad bourgeois, crowd. the bar on the top floor in the cylindrical metal tube has a totally different, livelier vibe.

service

incredibly slow restaurant staff vs. superefficient bartenders. when paying with plastic it somehow takes a staggering 30 minutes to process your payment [?!].

interior

bernard khoury's original interior has made way for modern design of a different kind. panels of translucent fabric with frames in black lacquered steel are positioned against the existing walls and reveal the distribution of the windows. on one of the long walls, panoramic images appear from behind the fabric, reminiscent of 17th century dutch still life paintings. dining chairs are re-editions of the iconic finn juhl chair, while custom-made floor lamps create a low horizontal and intimate level.

housed in a listed structure, architect bernard khoury wrapped it in steel mesh and added a metal cylinder-shaped rooftop structure. foodwise it's a little less exciting...but still good.
